We all have been either victims or know victims of Helene and Milton, two hurricanes that swept through our area just 13 days apart.
Helene with her storm surge destroyed countless floors.
It will not be easy to repair the damage and get on with life. We hope we can help answer the question, "Now what?" with the following.
The Floor
Wood flooring can be replaced with wood flooring or some of the more resilient options that are now available such as Luxury Vinyl Plank.
There are many vinyl floor choices that look great. Cover them with area rugs and you could easily happen on a grouping that you like better than the what you had before.
Vinyl is not completely flood resistant. Nothing really is. But it’s probably more flood resistant than the flooring than you just had to throw away.
Then style your room with area rugs, either hand-knotted or fabricated.
You could render this configuration quickly. If the hand knotted rug is in stock, it could be on your new floor soon after the floor is installed. Fabricated rugs can be ready one to three weeks after you place the order.
Plus if the hurricane warnings get scary (spare us!), you can roll up an area rug and get it out of harm's way.
Choices
Combine synthetic hardwood flooring styles with rugs fabricated from broadloom and/or hand knotted rugs, you will have endless choices.

With one or more fabricated rugs, this synthetic floor could quickly become intimate and unique.
Plus your rooms could be revived quickly from Helene/Milton, depending on the availability of labor and merchandise in stock.
Flooring
Luxury vinyl tile comes in hundreds if not thousands of patterns with every color and tone found in wood and other flooring options like marble.
It's cousin, luxury vinyl plank, comes with textures, like wood grain.
The newest is QPC, quartz polymer composite. It's super tough.

This realistic vinyl floor needs a rug. Choose either a fabricated rug or a hand knotted rug.
Add a Rug or Rugs

This rug specially fabricated at Addison/Dicus could not be built in one to three weeks, but it illustrates the starring role a custom rug can play on a wood floor.

This fabricated rug is made of jute. Natural fibers are often a great choice.

Here is a hard surface layered with a fabricated rug, then layered with a hand knotted rug.
The choices are endless. If this concept appeals to you, visit our showroom in Tampa or Orlando and start matching up possibilities. Lots of surprising solutions repairing hurricane damage await you there.
