As many of you know, the Tampa Addison/Dicus showroom sits in the middle of the Willow Design Center in a building that takes up pretty much an entire block. So there is a lot to look at here and your imagination can go crazy with all the ways decorative elements can be put together.
In that vein we thought that pairing paintings and rugs would make for an interesting post. The key for most of us is having both elements complement, rather than struggle with each other. It was easier than we thought with everything under one roof.
Kelsey Keller and Associates
Kelsey Keller's gallery is small, but he carries some large pieces. At times the challenge was to fit the rugs into a space smaller than they were designed for. By the end of the day I was thinking of these pieces as "megaswatches."

Solamente, 50”w x 63”h, Original canvas by C. Allen
This is fun because it combines an ancient Persian design with a modern abstract. Style is important, but style can be shaped in many ways to achieve a mood.

L: Garmonia, 51”w x 51”h, Original Canvas by M. Stone. R: Robin Eggs, Size: 52”w x 63”h original canvsas by Cecil K.
This thoroughly modern, yet neutral rug dramatizes the robin eggs.

Metromuse, 52”w x 63” Original Canvas by N. Solomon
Abstract and abstract.

Osprey Coast, 40”w x 53”h Original Canvas by K.M. Johns
This coastal motif seems perfect. I picture the osprey landing on the rug it goes so well with the painting.

Lifespan I, 48”w x 48”h Original Canvas by P. Kuttner
The abstract painting suggests tall sales and goes well with the aquatic themed rug.
