In the early to mid-teens, designers virtually abandoned traditional hand-knotted rugs in favor of more contemporary and transitional rugs.

But in the last several years they're choosing more and more traditional rugs and transitional pieces.

Recently sales have achieved a rare balance: traditional, transitional and contemporary rug sales are about equal.

A group of new arrivals reflects the balance and we thought you'd like to see them.
