Rugs continually surprise me.
I bought this one in the later part of last year on a trip to India. It's maker copied a design that he liked from the textile museum in Jaipur and gave it a modern touch by adding an "erased" component.
It's tightly knotted structure contains quite a bit of silk, which does surprising things to any rug.
Anyway, I liked it and prepared a blog post about it to sort of give it a boost. Before I could get it written, it sold and was out the door.
Surprise!
We just got in another one.

This is an overhead shot. The gray and pink and the lighting are giving it a bluish cast. No matter. Few people are ever going to see an overhead view of this or any rug.

We put some furniture on it courtesy of Interiors Trading Company. This shot is truer to the real life pink in the rug. Also under the right edge of the coffee table you can see an area where the pink is faded or erased.

You can see the intricacy in the rug's pattern. The museum-inspired design it a lot of fun to look at.
